D.B.N. Murthy is a quality and management independent consultant currently based in Bangalore. His work experience of over four decades concerns quality, management, standardization, human resource, and training and consumer affairs. He is an Electrical Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunications. He worked as Development Manager in the Indian Telephone Industries Ltd.,
Bangalore, Quality Manager, Philips India Ltd. Loni-Kalbhor, near Pune.
He has received advanced training at Automatic Electric Company, Liverpool, U.K and at N.V Philips Ltd., Eindhoven, The Netherlands. He has attended and presented papers at technical seminars in India and in the U.S.A. He has also worked as a faculty member at educational institutions of repute and has conducted seminars and workshops on quality and management related matters.
Mr. Murthy is a life member of the Indian Association for Quality & Reliability, Quality Circle Forum of India, and Indian Statistical Institute. He was an ASQC Certified Quality Engineer for over a decade. He has been included in the biographical publications such as "Afro-Asian Who's Who", "Biography Today", "Asia / Who’s Who" and "Asia-Pacific Who's Who".
Mr. Murthy is a prolific writer having published 11 books and over 2600 letters and articles on a variety of topics in newspapers, magazines and journals. These include Harvard Business Review, Quality Progress, Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications, Business Today, HRD Times, New York Times, India Today, The Week, Outlook, The Hindu, Deccan Herald, Down to Earth, The New Indian Express, and The Telegraph. So far he has been awarded thrice "Best Letter" published in Business Today magazine. He has traveled extensively in Europe, South East Asia and the U.S.A. His trekking trips have taken him to the Indian as well Nepal Himalayas. His other interests are playing contract bridge and listening to classical music. |
